I just watched a documentary film about Curitiba - quaintly titled "A Convenient Truth: Urban Solutions from Curitiba, Brazil." While painfully slow at times, and the narrator's accent and sometimes faltering English get in the way of figuring out what's going on, the film does a pretty good job of laying out the tactics Curitiba has used to become a more sustainable city. Curitiba will undoubtedly be a model for cities in the future. I especially dig what they've done with their roads and mass transit systems.

Shit, I am Brazilian and live here and I did not know this. Hmm, guess Curitiba might be on my map next time I get out of town.
